Known for fusing trance, techno, and psychedelic influences, the duo carved out a niche with their science fiction-inspired aesthetic and experimental live shows. Eschewing guitars for sequencers and samplers, they embraced early rave culture while retaining a progressive rock sensibility.
Their debut Abduction (1993) cemented their reputation, and subsequent releases pushed boundaries with genre-blurring soundscapes. Even after Hinton’s departure in 2008, Pepler has kept Eat Static alive, touring and releasing forward-looking, extraterrestrial-inspired electronic music.
