Alongside representing the Albicelestes as a player, Sam will also work as a coach in their academy systems, contributing to several teams and age groups.

Beardy’s new employers achieved an identical historic promotion to the Reds a few months ago. Victory over UD Maracena in the promotion play-off final means the team will compete in the Tercera Federación- the fifth tier of Spanish football – for the first time in their existence.

Arriving in West Sussex in 2024 following a spell with Sussex rivals Eastbourne Borough, the defender was the first signing of the Chris Agutter era and quickly emerged as one of the leaders in the dressing room. As a result, Beard was awarded the role as Vice-Captain, which ended up with the 28-year-old possessing the captain’s armband on multiple occasions in the absence of fellow full-back Joel Colbran.
After cementing himself as mainstay in the 2024/25 season in the left side of defence as the Reds missed out on the National League South title by a single point, Beardy’s second full campaign was plagued by injury.
A knee injury caused him to sit on the sidelines for a four-month spell, but he returned in time to play a instrumental part in our league title triumph.
The departing Red started eight out of our final nine matches of the 2025/26 campaign, with seven victories during that decisive period ultimately proving pivotal in the eventual coronation as league champions.
In total, Beard made 69 appearances across all competitions for the Club, scoring once in the 4-3 away win over Horsham.
