The 25-year-old joins the Reds’ ranks following a positive 18 month spell with the Shrimpers, where the striker contributed heavily in Southend’s FA Trophy success last May.
Netting a double in the semi-final victory over Southport, Kendall also featured in the final showdown at Wembley as Southend overcame Wealdstone on a penalty shootout.
The Reds’ latest forward addition played a part in Kieron Dyer’s side’s strong start to the campaign, coming off the bench to net the winner in a 3-1 away victory over Solihull Moors just over a fortnight ago.
Born and raised down the road in Eastbourne, the striker experienced his football education at Queens Park Rangers, but it was with his home town club Eastbourne Borough where Kendall truly announced himself on the senior stage.
An initial loan spell in 2021 was made permanent in September with the Sports before Lincoln City swooped in January and secured his signature before loaning him back to the East Sussex outfit.
Kendall netted 24 times as a 21-year-old at Connect Management Stadium and earned a reputation as one of the county’s finest marksman.
Starting the 2022/23 season in League One with Lincoln, Kendall continued to develop through loan spells in League Two with Sutton United and the National League with Bromley.
Spells with Dagenham & Redbridge and Woking would follow, where the centre forward would register double figures for goal contributions in the National League.
Southend then won the race to lure the Englishman to Essex in December 2024, with his debut season including eight league goals in 28 appearances.
Manager Adam Hinshelwood offered his thoughts after signing the striker: “Charley is a real threat with his pace in behind and has that all-important National League experience which we want to keep adding to the group.”
“His goal record speaks for itself and everyone is excited to have him through the door and see him represent our club.”
With many teams in the race to sign the striker, Charley decided the Sussex Transport Community Stadium was the right step in his career.
