Worthing’s return to the Fifth Tier after a three-year absence will be marked with an away trip to newly promoted Bromley Women. The Ravens will compete at Tier 5 of the women’s football pyramid for the first time in the club’s history, and play their football at the CopperJax Community Stadium, nestled in the corner of South East London.
A week later, Brentford Women will travel to Woodside Road to compete in the Rebels’ home opener. The Bees finished 3rd in the Premier Division last campaign, missing out on promotion to the National League by a mere five points, and are expected to compete for the title once again this time round.
The next fixture arrives 14 days later due to Hammersmith Women opting out of playing the weekend of the 30th. Millwall are the next London giant to trek down the M23.
The Lionesses are entering their sixth straight season in the LSEWRL Premier Division, and were members when Worthing were crowned champions of the league in 2023. The Rebels beat the Southwark-based side by an aggregate score of 9-1 that season, and will hope for a similar fortune four years later.
Worthing’s second away escapade will be a Sussex Derby against Newhaven Ladies at the Trafalgar Ground. The Dockers narrowly survived relegation from the league in 26/27, winning just three of their 22 fixtures.
After a weekend of FA Cup action, football in BN14 returns against the aforementioned Hammersmith. The Hammers have had an extraordinary rise to this level over the last half-decade, rising from the bottom to Tier 5 via four promotions in five years.
A trip to Ashford Town (Middlesex) on the 11th October will be Worthing’s only league minutes played in October.
The Tangerines last faced Worthing in the FA Women’s National League Division One South East back in 2023/24, playing out a thrilling 3-3 draw at Woodside Road, a result which secured a top three finish that season.
The day after Sutton United men’s come to the South Coast on Halloween, the women’s team visit for a fixture on Sunday 1st November. Another long-serving member of the LSEWRL Premier Division who will return to Worthing for the first time in three years.
Finally, after two weekends of League and FA Cup fixtures, our second Sussex Derby of the season against Eastbourne Borough is the last fixture to be officially announced thus far. The Reds will swap West Sussex for East on the 22nd November.
The pair faced off in the Sussex Women’s Cup Quarter Final earlier this year, before being crowned champions of the LSEWRL Division One South a few months later. It was an extremely successful campaign for the Sports, securing their second successive league title (notably going unbeaten in both) before winning the LSEWRL Trophy to complete the double.
More fixtures will be announced in due course, and all matches currently named are subject to change. There will be no matches played on the weekends of the 20th and 27th of December due to the festive period.
