The shot-stopper, who is affectionately referred to as ‘The Sussex Cat’, played a pivotal role in helping the Reds lift the National League South title for the first time in our history last season.
Seymour asserted himself between the sticks for the final 12 matches of the league campaign, during which time Adam Hinshelwood’s side picked up eight victories and kept five clean sheets.
It’s been a long and cathartic journey to First-Team football at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium for the Englishman, who encountered multiple setbacks prior to officially donning the gloves for the Reds.
Following two significant knee injuries and lengthy recovery processes, Seymour made his long-awaited senior debut for the Rebels in our comprehensive victory over Jarvis Brook in the Sussex Transport Senior Cup in October 2025.
Another appearance in that competition arrived a few months later in the toppling of Broadbridge Heath before the former Crawley, Portsmouth and Burgess Hill ‘keeper was given his opportunity in the National League South by manager Adam Hinshelwood.
The local talent took the opportunity with both hands, keeping a clean sheet in the 2-0 win over Chesham United at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium.
Shutouts against Maidenhead United, Chelmsford City and AFC Totton would follow, with his strong reactions and impressive distribution skills heavily contributing to picking up crucial points in that period.
His performance in the Easter Monday success over Dorking Wanderers will live fondly in the memory of everyone associated with the club, with one save in particular standing out as a monumental moment in our season.

He finished the season with another clean sheet on the final day against Ebbsfleet United to help the team he supports into the National League.
After cementing the spot between the sticks in the business end of the 2025/26 campaign, the goalkeeper has now decided to continue his footballing journey down Woodside Road.
On signing a new contract, Taylor said: ” I’m delighted to sign a new deal at the club I love as we prepare for our first season in the National League.”
