The midfielder hails from Suwanee, a city northeast of Atlanta, Georgia.
Growing up, she received her football education from Atlanta Fire United and North Gwinnett High School.
Familiar with playing at the NCAA level, Varitek spent five years at college in the States, initially being recruited to play in Division One.
After three years spent at Berry College, Georgia, she then enjoyed her final year at Catawba College, North Carolina, completing her studies in May of last year.
During these years, she was awarded a Southern Athletics Association Honourable Mention on three occasions, and will now tackle football in the UK for the first time.
Varitek will be available for selection against Ashford this weekend, and is touted to be an excellent reinforcement in the Reds’ midfield.
