Our first-ever month competing in the fifth tier featured memorable victories, closely-fought encounters with the league’s finest teams and plenty of goalmouth action.
Opening day yielded a three point haul away to Carlisle United, as the Reds produced a second half comeback to overcome the Cumbrian outfit.
Home matches against Forest Green Rovers and Boreham Wood in the National League and West Ham United U21s in the National League Cup ended in narrow defeats, with our other contest at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium finishing with a victory and clean sheet over Wealdstone.
Last Friday’s 3-2 loss to Tamworth was the Rebels’ first defeat on the road this campaign, in an encounter with plenty of positives. Six matches across two competitions saw 10 goals netted by eight different players, with strong individual defensive displays throughout.
Plenty of new signings made an instant impact in West Sussex, with Dom Hutchinson and loanees Jayden Moore, Ramell Carter and Cory Adjetey-Brew all featuring heavily while Ricky Aguiar and Jack Wadham settled into life back at Woodside Road swiftly. Meanwhile, Razzaq Coleman De-Graft recorded a brace in our final match of the month against Boreham Wood to add to his goal on opening day at Brunton Park.
