Off the back of a stellar National League South campaign with the Gulls, with the versatile attacker recording 30 goal contributions in 42 appearances, the 27-year-old has arrived on West Sussex shores to bolster Adam Hinshelwood’s frontline with the new season still in its infancy.
Over the years, Young has been a thorn in the Reds’ side, scoring and assisting in last year’s 3-2 defeat at Plainmoor while also netting an unstoppable free-kick in February 2025’s 2-2 draw at Woodside Road.
Last term, it was the third successive year our newest Rebel had reached double figures for goals, having netted 14 goals for Yeovil Town in the 2023/24 season prior to a 10 goal haul in his first year at Torquay and 18 strikes in total in the campaign just gone.
A player who doesn’t shy away from the big occasions, his 16 goals in the regular season was followed up with a brace in the National League South play-off semi-final victory over Dorking Wanderers back in May.
Born in Chippenham, Young has also turned out in the sixth tier for Chippenham Town and Gloucester City in the National League North and has featured in the National League for Yeovil.
He also briefly sampled life in League One with Coventry City as a teenager following a move from Swindon Town.
Now entering the prime years of his career, his new manager Adam Hinshelwood shared his delight on securing the winger’s services.
“Jordan is a player I have always admired when coming up against him, so I am delighted to now be working with him,” Hinshelwood revealed.
“He has great dead ball delivery and can score and assists goals from out of nowhere, so he’s going to be a really important player for us.”
Earning a reputation for terrorising opposition defences with his skill, guile and trickery, Jordan has signed along the dotted line to seal a transfer to the Sussex Transport Community Stadium.
