The first match in which we were due to play Wealdstone did not take place. The Reds had been drawn away to them in the semi-final of the AFA Invitation Cup in the 1963/64 season but, because of fixture congestion, they withdrew from the competition, handing us a bye to the final.
All of our other encounters have taken place in the Isthmian League, the Division 1 matches taking place between 1999 and 2002 and the Premier Division fixtures from 2004 to 2006.
The first meeting came on 23rd February 1999 at the White Lion Ground, home of Edgware Town.
Wealdstone were ground-sharing at this time and each of our away matches with them took place in Edgware, except for the final one which was played after they had agreed to share at Northwood’s Chestnut Avenue ground.
This first match resulted in our largest margin of defeat against these opponents, 4-1; in fact we only took one point from the first four encounters before finally triumphing 1-0 in Middlesex in 2000/01.
As can be seen from the summary, we have struggled to get any reward from these matches, although scorelines have usually been close. The latest meeting, on 7th January 2006, finished with the Rebels winning 3-1 – Danny Davis, Andy Alexander and Sam Francis netting our goals in this home fixture.
