Joe brings a strong blend of commercial and operational experience from across the football pyramid, having most recently served as CEO of Hashtag United – a fast-growing, digitally led Non-League club, following senior finance and commercial leadership at EFL side Exeter City.
In his new role, Joe will take responsibility for all things “off pitch”, working alongside the Club’s Football Director Nathan Bowen. Joe will sit on the Club’s main operating board and will drive our ambitious revenue plans and oversee operating performance.
Chairman Barry Hunter said: “We were really impressed by the number and quality of applicants for the role.
“Interest came from a variety of backgrounds in business operations and commercial management in both sport and non-sporting sectors.
“Joe sat top of the pile because he provides a great balance across all the important skill sets and will fit in well with our progressive, collaborative culture.
“Joe’s initial focusses will include building partnership income, matchday attendances, non-matchday income, matchday supporter experience and providing an important gateway to the boardroom for the Club’s Fan Advisory Board.”
On his appointment, Joe commented: “I’m really excited to be joining Worthing at such an important point in the Club’s journey.
“What’s been achieved to reach the National League is hugely impressive. There’s strong foundations already in place and I’m looking forward to working with everyone at the Club to drive the next phase of growth.”
Joe will start his new role on Monday 6 July, in good time to help his team complete important plans ahead of the new season. His appointment is subject to clearance from the Independent Football Regulator.
