Linzi Rodina Yoga

Unwrapped

PUBLISHED: :

Here at IW, we have been shifting our focus to health, wellbeing and beauty businesses recently, for several reasons. Firstly, these hard working, caring and downright lovely independents who spend all their time looking after us, have been hit pretty hard by the pandemic. Secondly, we all need a little bit of TLC - and nevermore than now. Thirdly, we have to do something to counteract all the amazing food and drink we keep sampling for IW!

So....we are absolutely THRILLED to introduce our wonderful friend, and much respected local yoga, fitness and wellbeing expert and coach - Linzi Rodina.

We love the energy, passion and positivity that Linzi brings to everything she does, and know how much she has dedicated her life to helping people get the best out of theirs. Special Independent Worthing recommendation for Linzi's relaxation/nidra sessions - if you get the chance to try one, we are pretty sure you will love it!

IW: Give us an elevator pitch for your business

LR: I'm passionate about mental and physical health and wellbeing. Nearly 50 and having spent 25 years in this industry i've learned - fitness doesn't equal healthy, I'm a yoga teacher gone rogue, no longer tied to any set lineage and I teach in a safe and fun way. I'm also now a BWRT® therapist and am currently in a year long training to be a IFC (International Federation of coaching) Life Coach. BWRT® stands for Brain working recursive therapy, and is a fantastic therapy to enable you to overcome limiting beliefs, to zapping life long phobias, over eating, under eating, self sabotage, anxiety, the list goes on. It's been ongoing study for 3 years now, and continues.

I've also been massaging for 25 years now, clients who already invest in themselves using my other services receive regular massage and postural assessment.

The Total Reset is a package for women that runs Tuesday to Friday at 6:30am on Zoom. We're done and dusted by 7:20! Targeting muscles that need to build and those that need to release with yoga sequences and conditioning workouts plus Wednesday evening a deep soother called Surrender & Release.

Fridays from November is a FREE community RISE & RESET mental health walk and talk and after if the tide is in, a dip in the sea for those brave enough. 6:15-7:15am.

I'm also running a free masterclass called 'Slay Your Self-Sabotage' on 29th Decemeber at 7.30pm on zoom - a great time between Xmas and New Year to reset your resolve.

IW: Describe your favourite type of day?

LR: First thing in the morning watching the sunrise and knowing I can decide my attitude for that day.

IW: What skill or talent would you most like to learn and why?

LR: I'd like to learn to juggle, or knit, or sew, or paint, or draw well.

IW: What topic could you give a prensentation on without any preparation?

LR: Balance in life. Anatomy & Physiology and the difference between being fit and being healthy. Why upward dog and backbends are severely detrimental to some people Rituals for having a good day. BWRT® and how it works.

IW: What are you really bad at?

LR: I'm really bad at chit chat...! I call it shitshat. I've realised in the pandemic that I'm actually an introvert and find social gatherings sometimes quite stressful. Its not a bad thing now I'm older, but I realise I said yes to a lot of things when I was younger that I could have done without.

IW: What is your go-to local independent business and why? go on, you can have more than one if you like

LR: Ooooh loads, I love Malt for breakfast. I have just discovered Laughing Dog lifestyle cafe, Saltwater Studios and Hotpod yoga is very close to my heart, having been there from the start and Katie is a really good friend. Heavy Gretel for gifts. Arenea menswear for gifts and SOCKS... their socks are the best.

IW: What is something you are really looking forward to?

LR: I'm looking forward to having a garden next year and rescuing some strays..... Animals.

IW: What do you buy loads more of than only people, and why?

LR: Coconut oil. For massage, my own moisturiser, cooking, baking, oil pulling.

IW: What gives you goosebumps?

LR: When my clients have breakthroughs and I know they can't then UNKNOW what they now know and how that can improve their life.

IW: What is the best thing about what you do?

LR: When I see the penny drop in my clients, those lightbulb moments and the smile that fills their whole face. When they send me pictures of how happy they are with themselves. God help me if I lost my phone I have a lot of bums in favourite jeans pics. I also get immense reward with my work at the drug and alcohol rehab. Addiction isn't selective and as Gabor Matè wrote about in The realm of hungry ghosts.. its not about the behaviour, more about why the pain and how to work through it.

I practice what I deliver and have been clean and sober for many years now.

IW: What pearl of wisdom would you impart to anyone wanting to set up their own business?

LR: Find your mission, the rest will follow. Discover your WHY and don't get too wrapped up in the HOW.

IW: What do you get up to in your spare time?

LR: I love rock climbing and staying strong. I am also a really keen recipe writer of plant based dishes and treat.

IW: What's your guilty pleasure?

LR: Scandinavian drama or forensic documentaries.

IW: Anything else you would like to add?

LR: Worthing is a beautiful town and needs people to champion it.
