Worthing Theatres & Museum (WTM) is delighted to announce the appointment of Yemisi Mokuolu as the new Chair of the Board of Trustees from 11th October 2024. An award-winning producer and international consultant, Yemisi has worked extensively with prestigious organisations such as the European Commission and Arts Council England. She is also the founder of Hatch Ideas Worldwide and co-founder of the Asa Baako Festival in Ghana.
Yemisi brings over 20 years of experience as an independent producer, with credits including Festival Director for Amnesty @ Edinburgh Festivals and several large-scale cultural initiatives across the UK, Africa, Europe, and beyond. She has delivered capacity-building programmes globally, mentoring creative entrepreneurs and cultural organisations such as Historic England and Tate Galleries and working with key clients like the British Council, Goethe Institute, and King’s College London.
As Chair, Yemisi will be working with the Executive and Senior Leadership team at WTM in fostering a strong sense of community pride in WTM with the organisation becoming a cultural ‘hub’ for everyone in the community to be part of, creating a shared experience that celebrates local heritage, while embracing its diversity and creativity. Yemisi aims to ensure that WTM is a space where the entire community feels welcome and where culture becomes a way for Worthing to understand itself and build connections through shared artistic and learning experiences. Yemisi, along with the Board of Trustees and the Executive, will continue to build partnerships with key stakeholders, including Worthing Borough Council, in ensuring WTM continues to thrive artistically and remains environmentally and financially sustainable as the custodians of Worthings’ collection at the museum and our venues.
This appointment marks a new chapter for WTM, as Yemisi leads the organisation in creating a vibrant and forward-thinking cultural hub that remains deeply connected to the local community.
