Monthly Wellness Mornings At Truleigh

Fitness & Wellbeing

Not at all. Everything is guided in a simple and accessible way. Most people who come are beginners or returning after a break.

Yes. Qi Gong is slow, gentle and adaptable. You move within your own range and there is no pressure to keep up or get anything “right”.

Wear comfortable clothing that you can move easily in and keep warm in when we slow things down. Layers are a good idea.

Mats are provided. It’s a good idea to bring a couple of cushions and some blankets so you can feel fully supported and comfortable, especially during the slower, more restorative parts of the morning. It's also a good idea to bring a drinking water bottle.

Group acupuncture is an optional add-on at the end of the session. You lie comfortably on a mat while a small number of acupuncture points are used to support relaxation and balance. You do not have to have acupuncture. The Qi Gong and restorative session can be attended on its own.

Most people find acupuncture very relaxing. The needles are extremely fine and sensations are usually minimal. Many people drift off during treatment. If you have concerns email Jo at hello@jodarling.co.uk to discuss.

Group acupuncture is designed to support overall balance, relaxation and nervous system regulation rather than focusing on individual conditions. If you are looking for more targeted treatment, a one-to-one session would be more appropriate.

That’s absolutely fine. You can book just the Wellness Morning without the acupuncture session.

The pace is slow and spacious. There is time to move, time to rest and time to simply be. Nothing is rushed.

Yes, that is often exactly why people come. The combination of movement, rest and stillness is designed to support the nervous system and help you feel more settled.

This is a very common concern. The sessions are small, relaxed and non-judgemental. Everyone is focused on their own experience and there is no expectation to perform.

Numbers are kept small to maintain a calm and supportive environment.

The Truleigh Centre is set in the South Downs above Shoreham, with beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. Full directions will be sent after booking.

A full refund is available if you cancel at least 7 days before the event.

Event Overview

Join me for a deeply restorative Wellness Morning at the Truleigh Centre, nestled in the South Downs above Shoreham.

These mornings are designed as a simple but powerful pause in the week, a chance to step away from the noise of everyday life and reconnect with your body through gentle movement and stillness.

We begin with Qi Gong, an ancient Chinese practice that combines simple, slow flowing movement to improve energy, mobility and nervous system regulation. The session includes gentle joint-opening movements, simple sequences and time to settle into the body.

Qi Gong is suitable for complete beginners as well as those with experience. Movements are slow, accessible and can be adapted for all abilities.

After the Qi Gong we move into a restorative practice using simple, supportive yoga techniques. In Chinese medicine this is where we allow the body to shift from doing into being, supporting the nervous system and giving the Qi space to settle and regulate.

You will be held by the ground in slow, supported positions that encourage deep rest.

We finish the wellness morning with meditation, allowing everything to integrate and settle more fully.

For those who wish to stay on, a limited number of places are available for group acupuncture, a deeply relaxing treatment where you simply lie on your yoga mat and rest while fine needles support the body’s natural rebalancing.

These mornings are intentionally simple, calm and spacious, an opportunity to move, breathe and reset in nature.
