Findon Place

A privately owned Grade II* listed Georgian country house set in its own parkland in the South Downs National Park, just north of Worthing. There has been a house here since medieval times — the cellars date from the 13th century and the estate appears in the Domesday Book — and its owners have included Thomas Cromwell and an ancestor of the poet Shelley, with the present reception rooms rebuilt in the 1780s. The house is hired exclusively for weddings, private celebrations, corporate days and filming, and comes with five guest bedrooms, a swimming pool and a tennis court. Its lawns, borders and woodland look out across the park towards Cissbury Ring, and open occasionally for charity under the National Garden Scheme.
